2012 resolutions: read the Bible in a year

Okay, this is my resolution every year. Well, almost. I got so fed up with never finishing it, last year I didn't even try. And we all know how well last year turned out for me. This year I'm starting again, and I'm having the ESV chronological plan sent right to my email. I think the English Standard Version is a beautiful translation, and I like having events placed in context chronologically. Those wacky minor prophets throw me for a loop.

This blog has a great list of different reading plans worth trying. It's not too late to just pick up and start one, if you haven't already. And if things stall in my own personal reading, which they inevitably will, I just might switch to this one: a Two-Year Bible Reading Plan, by Stephen Witmer.

I've done the ESV mail through-the-Bible-in-a-year for the last two years and can highly recommend it. Doing something different this year, though...

I'm doing the ESV version too but not the chronological on ( I can't remember which one). I printed the guide and my goal is to do it in one year but if it takes longer so be it. That is why I printed the guide so I can. Heck off as I go along - this way if I miss a bit I know where to pick back up (I'm so forgetful !)

Mom, what are you doing this year?
Adrienne, that's great you're just checking it off as you go along--less pressure for yourself, and then you can see what you've done. After all, the point is to do it, not just do in one chronological year. :c)
